Admission Criteria & Eligibility

To gain admission:
  • A CBSE or an ICSE student should score above 86%. IGCSE board students should have above AAAAA, IB board students should require scoring above 38 out of a total score of 45.
  • An international student requires taking the standardized tests like SAT Reasoning Test or the ACT Assessment test, and three SAT Subject tests (one of which must be the Writing test).
  • If you have a 650 or higher on the Critical Reading or Writing sections of the SAT, or a 29 or higher on the English or Reading sections of the ACT, you are exempt from taking an English proficiency examination.
  • It is advisable that an applicant takes these tests in the final year of his/her schooling i.e. in the months of October or November in order to apply as soon as possible, so that the chances of admission are greater.
  • An international student also needs to take either TOEFL and obtain a score of 600 (paper-based test) or 100 (Internet-based test), or, IELTS and obtain a score of 7.0.Application deadlines are: For ‘Early Decision’ - first week of November and Regular Admission - beginning of January, and notification of the admissions office’s decision will be mailed in April.
  • Columbia does not accept the PTE Academic Test
