Admission Criteria & Eligibility

To gain admission into the esteemed Michigan Technological University undergraduate programme:
English Proficiency Requirements
All degree-seeking undergraduate international students are required to submit one of the listed tests as a proof of English language proficiency. Minimum requirements for direct admission to our degree programs:
  1. Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL): minimum 550 PBT, 79 iBT (paper-based, internet-based)
  2. International English Language Testing System (IELTS): minimum 6.5 overall band score (minimum 6.0 on speaking and writing portion) 
  3. SAT 1: minimum 510 evidence-based reading and writing
  4. Pearson Test of English:  53
