Narsee Monjee College of Commerce and Economics

Shree Narsee Monjee College of Commerce and Economics or NM College is an autonomous college, affiliated to University of Mumbai.  The college is located in Mumbai, Maharashtra.  It was set up in 1964 by Shri Vile Parle Kelavani Mandal (SVKM).  SVKM is a professionally managed trust which manages a gamut of renowned educational establishments. The college offers around six undergraduate courses.  Admission to the college is subject to an entrance test NMAT (C) for some courses and on the basis of marks for some courses.  NM College is known for imparting excellent education in Business studies. The college offers around 47 trust based and non-college scholarships.

NM College Ranked 7th In The Category Of Commerce For The Year 2016 By India Today.Also Ranked 9th In The Category of Commerce For The Year 2013.NM College has been ranked as the 2nd best college in India for BBA studies and the 7th best in India for Commerce studies, according to India Today’s poll on best colleges in India 2012.  The BBA ranking has only been introduced this year.  However, the Commerce department has slipped one place from 6th in 2011 to 7th in 2012.  The department has been ranked within the top 12 since 2007.  The college is not easy to get into.
Library
The library deserves a special mention.  The library is very spacious and can seat up to 300 students at a time. The library operates from 7.45 a.m. to 6.00 p.m. on most days. However, the time is increased up to 8.00 p.m. during examinations. The library houses close to 45,000 books, and subscribes to around 70 magazines and journals.  The e-library provides excess to more than 4000 journals on various topics.
Facilities
One of the first things someone will notice about the college is the infrastructure.  The college has an excellent newly built canteen and a well stocked library as well.  The college also has an excellent faculty. Most of them have doctorates and post graduate degrees.  The college also has many other facilities like:
